iF possible it would be helpful if the buyer has studied his drive shaft or requirements and knows a little of what he wants. Our website is designed to inform the buyer what these drive shaft assemblies do and when they are used. Your order form will ask some of the questions below, as applicable.

   Example of what you should have some idea about:

 

  • What is your vehicle make/model/year?

  • What is your Transfer case? (look for a tag or ask your mechanic)

  • What are your differentials? (Dana44, Dana60, Corp 10, 12, 14..)

  • What are the working lengths? (see: How to measure)

  • How high is your lift?

  • Do you want high angle?

Many time we know most of the above from the make and model if someone has not changed it

        NOTE:

  • All drive shafts are complete with U-joints and precision balanced.

  • All drive shafts are (greaseable unless otherwise requested).

  • All drive shafts are built to a working length you provide us and the strength and u-joint requirements you need.

  • There are no returns on custom drive shafts. However, we can credit toward another upgrade. For example, if you buy a BAD BOY drive shaft and it doesn’t fix as you thought, we'll make you a BAD BOY JUNIOR and we'll credit the BAD BOY against the JUNIOR. Make sure that the information given to us is correct. We guarantee workmanship and that the product will perform to the specifications.

When do I need a high angle. (Rule of thumb).

FRONT or REAR: Lifts between 4 inches higher or when the angle of a single is 7 degrees or greater.

When do I need long travel. Rules of thumb.

When the extension (or travel) exceeds 2 inches. When you have build the vehicle for high articulation or high movement of the differentials with not torsion bars. Usually for rock crawling and off-road racing sports.

What is standard spline versus long spline? 

Answer: 3.5 inches total  versus 7inch working  travel. We have up to 26 inches of travel if you need it but it costs more.

EXTERNAL SYE FOR ANY TRUCK.

Instead of a slip yoke with a cv drive shaft, this kit offers a fixed yoke at the TC after drilling and tapping a hole at the end of the output shaft. The advantage of this is that you will be able to used the front drive shaft if the rear is disabled and if you need long travel you will be able to put that on the new style drive shaft. The Kit comes complete with 5 bolts and precision balanced. A BOLT-ON

This will bring 9" of  16 spline  with 7" of working travel. This 16 spline is used to high speed performance to reduce vibrations that a 10 spline may contribute.

LATE MODEL S1O CUSTOM FRONT DRIVE SHAFT KIT AND REAR DRIVE SHAFT

CUSTOM FRONT LATE MODEL S10 CHEVY FRONT REPLACEMENT KIT.

When an S10 is lifted higher than 8 inches, you will need a higher angle than the Half ton high angle 40 degree show above. At this height the CV becomes weak. So a one ton high angle should be substituted or a generic custom drive shaft with angles of 45 to 80 degrees. See the higher angle drive shaft example above.,

This yoke or flange is made using your splines from the existing shaft so don't throw them away and put it in a box and send to us with your name. We will match the order that you make here online. The drive shaft will be high angle if the lift is greater than 5". The yoke is bolted down to the output shaft after drilling and tapping a hole at the end of the output shaft. We have instructions. We need to know the distance from the end of the output shaft to center of the u-joint at the axle.

CUSTOM REAR LATE MODEL S10 CHEVY REAR DRIVE SHAFT.

The choice is with or without the CV on the rear. We have found out that these drive shaft work better without the rear CV due to the sagging of the vehicle suspension. The drive shaft without these works great and is less expensive to make.

CUSTOM FRONT High Angle 40 Degree and SYE Kit -- $375

The Slip Yoke Eliminator and drive shaft instructions will be provided for installation to the output of the 263 transfer case. The flange yoke is installed first and then the drive shaft. The diameter of the flange is 4" so not to interfere with the linkages or electrical boxes.

CUSTOM FRONT High Angle BBjr 2-ton 60 degrees and SYE Kit -- $575

This KIT is for highly lifted vehicle  9" and up. Usually a straight axle has been swapped in and the drive shaft does not turn all the time. The flange is fixed to the output of the TC with three tag welds. 

Also this will handle continuous operation up to 35 degrees maximum and flexs to 60 degrees for your articulation.
